Coursework, revision, exams, and some very good news!

I’ve had very little time for this blog as of late because exams and coursework deadlines have been approaching and I’ve been spending a lot of time working and revising. I’ve spent hours over the last week doing music coursework and practicing for performance exams and I hadn’t really left much time for anything else. Fortunately, all the music work is behind me now because today I got everything recorded and sent off. Just in time too – today was the deadline! Now I just need to get through the next two months of exams then I can finally leave school – I can’t wait.

Anyway, I recieved some very good news last week – I’ve been selected for Jamboree! I’ll be joining about 40,000 other scouts in Sweden next year, and I’m really looking forward to it. However, it now means that everybody in our district who got selected needs to work really hard to raise £20,110 so we can go. We’ve had a few fundraising ideas so we’ll definately be able to achieve this.

Many congratulations. You’ll have a great time.
Make sure you say hi to the Staffordshire lot, especially the nutter who will be after badges (one of mine!).

    Congrats!!!!! That is brilliant news!!!
Fundraising, hmmmmm, that is always difficult. One thing I think would work a treat is children’s parties, scouting style: Offer your services and your hall for a couple of hours, play scout games and serve hot dogs fresh of the fire, or even better; have the kids grill the hot dogs themselves on sticks round the fire (kids are very careful round dangerous things) or have them make a fruitsallad or do a quiz were the kids win the ingredience of a Royal Dessert (marrengue, whipped cream, ice cream, chocolate sauce). McD charge a bundle per kid, so there is money to be had!

Congrats on getting into the Jamboree! Look out for the Lincolnshire Unit (I’m one of the Assistant Unit Leaders)

And good job on the blog btw… I’m trying to do something similar with documenting all my scouty activities. I figure iit would be good for my jamboree stuff
